Refund and Returns Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

1. Reservation, Payment & Cancellation

  • Reservation Fee: A non-refundable reservation fee is required to secure a kitten. This fee covers administrative processing, veterinary coordination, and breeder communications.
  • Payment: All payments must be made through our secure processors. Providing inaccurate payment information may result in order cancellation.
  • Order Limitations: We reserve the right to limit or decline orders based on customer profile, shipping address, or payment method.
  • Unauthorized Chargebacks: Chargebacks initiated without a legitimate basis are a breach of this agreement. We will pursue legal action to recover losses, including fees and penalties.
  • Reservation Transfer: Reservations are specific to the selected kitten and breeder and are non-transferable unless offered by us due to illness or breeder withdrawal.
  • Cancellation by Buyer: The reservation fee is non-refundable. An administrative fee ($100 prior to vet exam; $550 after vet clearance) will also be charged for cancellations.
  • Cancellation by Purebred LLC: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any adoption. If cancelled by us for reasons not due to buyer misconduct, a full refund will be issued.

2. Health Guarantee
Purebred LLC provides a one-year genetic health guarantee.

  • Covered Conditions: Life-threatening hereditary/congenital conditions, including Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), severe hip/elbow dysplasia (within 12 months), and severe patellar luxation (Grade III/IV within 12 months).
  • Excluded Conditions: FIP (unless add-on purchased), heart murmurs (unless congenital), respiratory conditions, all parasites (giardia, coccidia), bacterial infections, and non-life-threatening issues.
  • Remedy:
    • Months 0–6: 100% of base kitten price as credit or refund (minus all non-refundable fees).
    • Months 7–12: 50% of base kitten price as credit or refund (minus all non-refundable fees).
  • Optional 3-Year Extended Guarantee: Available for a fee. Covers death due to genetic conditions only, confirmed by a veterinarian’s certificate.

3. FCoV / FIP Disclosure

  • Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) is common and can mutate into Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).
  • FIP is not covered under the standard health guarantee.
  • An optional FIP Protection Plan is available for purchase. If purchased and the kitten dies from FIP within 3 years, the base adoption fee will be refunded upon submission of a vet’s diagnosis and death certificate within 30 days.

4. Veterinary Requirements & Customer Responsibilities

  • Initial Exam: The Buyer must have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 business hours of receipt. A stool analysis is required.
  • Vaccinations: Do not administer vaccinations within the first 10 days unless recommended by a vet. The kitten will be up-to-date on core vaccinations at delivery.
  • Ongoing Care: The Buyer is solely responsible for all future veterinary costs and care. Failure to provide medical records voids all guarantees.
  • Assumption of Risk: The Buyer assumes all risks inherent in pet ownership, including injury, illness, and behavioral challenges.

5. Death or Severe Abnormality

  • In the event of sudden death within 14 days of delivery, you must notify us immediately and provide a written report from a licensed veterinarian.
  • A necropsy by a licensed veterinary pathologist may be required at your expense to determine the cause of death.
  • If a covered genetic or unpreventable non-genetic cause is confirmed, we will offer a remedy as per our guarantee or as a discretionary goodwill gesture.
  • Claims involving euthanasia require documentation from a vet stating the condition was non-treatable and life-threatening.

6. Delivery, Shipping, and Pickup

  • Timeframe: Delivery occurs within 2-14 days after final veterinary clearance. Delays due to health, weather, or logistics are not grounds for refund.
  • Customer Response: You must respond and arrange delivery/pickup within 7 days of notification. A $25/day boarding fee applies after 7 days.
  • Abandonment: Failure to complete pickup/delivery within 14 days will result in abandonment. All fees will be forfeited, and the kitten may be rehomed.
  • Delivery Refusal: Refusing delivery based on appearance or personal preference results in forfeiture of all fees paid.

7. Rehoming and Right of First Refusal
If you can no longer care for the kitten, we retain the right of first refusal to repurchase it for $1. If we decline, you must provide us with the new owner’s full contact information.

8. Refund & Dispute Exclusions

  • No refunds are granted for treatable conditions, minor health fluctuations, or delivery delays.
  • The Buyer agrees not to initiate chargebacks for reasons excluded by this policy. Unauthorized chargebacks will be treated as fraudulent.
  • All claims must be initiated within 6 months of delivery.

9. Add-On Policies
All add-ons (e.g., delivery upgrades, extended guarantees, FIP coverage) are non-refundable. In the event a kitten is replaced, some add-ons may be transferred at our discretion. Services already performed (e.g., testing, microchipping) are non-refundable.

10. Customer Acknowledgments
By completing a reservation, you confirm you have read and agree to all terms, understand the non-refundable nature of the deposit, acknowledge the kitten is sold “as-is” upon veterinary clearance, and will not dispute payments outside these terms.
